Griffin Stringer Ltd is a Leicester-based, family owned-and-operated scrap metal merchant, dealing in all grades of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal, along with offering an extensive plant and machine dismantling and clearance service. We operate a first class metal recycling facility, with all the latest equipment to offer an unrivalled service to our customers.

Originally established in 1836, we have vast experience of the industrial scrap metal recycling sector. We operate a fleet of rollon-off and skip wagons, providing collection services to companies spread throughout England & Wales, as well as delivering to major steelworks, foundries and end-users. Our clients are involved in precision engineering, fabrication, general engineering, laser cutting, pharmaceuticals, energy and numerous other industries.

We pride ourselves on excellent levels of customer satisfaction. The central location of our yard means we can offer prompt collection of scrap throughout England & Wales, at whatever rate our customers require. Coupled with excellent prices for the scrap metal we buy see’s us acquire excellent levels of customer loyalty.

We ensure that material that leaves our yard for delivery is of top quality, which is reflected in prices we are able to achieve from our customers. As a direct result, we are able to offer exceptional prices for materials purchased from our clients. Not only that, we endeavour to operate the most efficient transport service possible, reducing collection costs futher.

We do not levy any additional charges on our scrap metal collections, unless previously agreed with a customer; the price we offer is the price we pay for the material we collect.

In other words, we do not charge for transport, administration, waste transfer notes or rental of containers. The only exception to this is where an external charge is levied upon us, for example disposal costs from a general waste collection.

We have a wide variety of skips and rollon-off's available suitable for any specific customer requirement. These range from small 6yd skips for use where space is tight or material density is exceptionally high, to 40yd rollon-off's for haulage of less dense material. Many of these skips can be provided with removable lids for secure storage. All are provided, collected or exchanged free of charge, within 24 hours.

We can also supply lockable skips, stillages, drums, IBC's and battery boxes subject to specific requirements.

Fully Licensed

We hold all applicable licenses for the collection, storage, processing and delivery of scrap metal. We operate under the regulations set out in the Waste (England & Wales) Regulations 2011, and fulfill the waste hierarchy as described in regulation 12.
