ISO 9001 Quality Management

ISO 9001 is designed with a simple goal in mind, to help businesses meet the needs of customers and stakeholders whilst satisfying relevant laws and regulations.

At Griffin Stringer Ltd we have a first class Quality Management System in place to help ensure we stick to our fundamental service principles and conform to the high standards we set.

As part of this system we actively analyse a variety of measureable objectives and keep records to ensure that the systems we have in place are being followed. This ranges from Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) such as ‘fuel usage per tonne of scrap delivered’ to the control of paperwork throughout the business.

We gained ISO 9001 accreditation in 2011.

ISO 14001 Environmental Management

ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that sets out a framework of essential elements for putting an effective Environmental Management System in place. This framework helps our business to improve resource efficiency, reduce waste and drive down costs.

Beyond that, though, it sets a work ethic amongst all of our employees to operate in an environmentally sound manner, as our environmental impact is being constantly measured, analysed and improved.

The end goal of our business is to minimise waste to landfill. Our environmental management system is designed to help us abide by the waste hierarchy as described by the Waste (England & Wales) Regulations 2011 and ultimately lead to zero waste to landfill.

We gained ISO 14001 accreditation in 2008.

As a family owned and operated company, we believe in giving our employees maximum opportunity to have an impact on our business.

We actively encourage progression amongst all of our employees. So whether a yard labourer wants to learn new skills, such as driving a crane or fork lift truck, or a driver wishes to learn more about how the business operates, we give them the tools they need to develop.
